The Home Course
About a month ago, we visited The Home Course for our final points tournament of the season. Thomas Edgar fired a net 66 for the low round of the day, which gave him a two stroke margin of victory over Clif Howe and Greg Lesnar in the Louies. Thurman Young shot a net 69 for a two stroke edge over Rich Garrett in the Hueys. Keith Joyal topped the Deweys with a 72, just one better than Ward Groesbeck and Nick Jenkins.
In the team games, Thomas Edgar and Jim Hansen had a smoking 59, which beat Greg Lesnar and Henrik Molholt by four strokes in the mid-handicap flight. Bob Hager and Rich Garrett topped Leif Sorensen and Thomas Larsen by two strokes in the low-handicap flight. The high-handicap flight had some craziness, with three teams tying for first, but Dave Luchtel and Patric Brayden won the tiebreaker over Clif Howe and Ted Binder and Don DeWeese and a fill-in officer.
Big winners in the skins game were Kevin Olson and Dan Fehrenbacher (they split the Dewey skins prize) and Roger Olson. Rich Garrett was the only Huey to win any skins, but he got a better prize for coming in second individually. Top prizes in the Scrooge went to Greg Lesnar, Sam Hergert and Clif Howe.

The Duck Off
Our two-day championship tournament was held September 12-13 at the Gold Mountain Cascade and Olympic courses. We had nice weather Saturday, but mixed it up Sunday with a bit of rain overnight and on into the first hour or so of play at the Olympic. Curtis Soares had a good round at Cascade and a great round at Olympic to take the Blue Jacket by four strokes over runner-up Dan Whiting. In the Green Jacket flight, Clif Howe was one off the lead after Cascade, but ran away from the field at Olympic for a five shot margin of victory over Greg Lesnar and Henrik Molholt.
Oakbrook
We wrap up the 2026 season with a two-Duck scramble at Oakbrook. On each hole, both team members tee off, then the team selects the best shot and both hit from that spot, repeating until holing out. A team must use at least 6 tee shots from each team member. If you do not have a teammate, you can take two shots from each spot (if you want).
