DGA News – August 22, 2026

Mount Si

Once again, we had one Duck who rose above the flock with an outstanding performance. Kyle Taylor fired a sterling net 63, which gave him a five stroke margin of victory over Jeffrey Hergert in the Deweys. Greg Lesnar eased to a net 68 and a three stroke edge over Ron Gaudette and Thomas Edgar in the Louies. Nick Simpson topped the Hueys with a 69, two better than Bill Goodman and Jeff Braden.

With a first-place winner and a runner-up, the team of Mike Irons, Ron Gaudette, Kyle Taylor and a fill-in officer romped to an eight stroke win over Jim Hansen, Thomas Edgar, Ted Binder and John Liston in the high-handicap flight. It was also a blowout in the low-handicap flight, where Michael Wu, Tyler Roush, Ian Farrell and Jeffrey Hergert won by seven over Greg Lesnar, Leif Sorensen, Thomas Larsen and Garry Carlson, as well as Curtis Soares, Nick Simpson, Don DeWeese and Kent Ferris.

Big winners in the skins game were Jerome Gotz, Dan Fehrenbacher and John Liston. Top prizes in the Scrooge went to Greg Lesnar, Bill Goodman and Vince Williams.

You can find all the winners on our website.

The Home Course

For our final points tournament of the season, we go down to Dupont to play The Home Course. The format of this tournament is individual stroke play and two-Duck Best Ball. On each hole, take the best net score from your twosome. We will also have a skins competition within each division. Tee times and tournament details are now on our website. See you at Home.

 The Duck Off

Our two-day championship tournament is September 12-13 at the Gold Mountain Cascade and Olympic courses. After The Home Course, Greg will be identifying all the qualifiers and sending out invitations to all those who qualify. To qualify, you must have played in at least 5 out of the 7 points tournaments (the Migratory can count as one of the five), and must have done one or more of the following: won a flock championship in the last 10 years, finished in the top 10 of your division point standings, or won a stroke-play tournament this season. If you qualify, please let Greg know ASAP if you are going to compete for the championship.

 Oakbrook

We wrap up the 2026 season with a two-Duck scramble at Oakbrook. On each hole, both team members tee off, then the team selects the best shot and both hit from that spot, repeating until holing out. A team must use at least 6 tee shots from each team member. Entry forms are now on our website and are due September 5.
