Snoqualmie Falls
A lot has happened since our last newsletter. For one, we had a tournament at Snoqualmie Falls. The Louies seemed very happy to see the Falls, as they carded a lot of good scores. Jim Naeve was the best of the bunch, with a net 66 that edged Larry Harvey by a single stroke. The competition was even tighter in the Hueys, where Philmore Redeau and Nick Simpson tied at 72. Philmore got the win via the tiebreaker. In the Deweys, Ted Binder had an easy stroll in the park; his net 70 gave him a 3-stroke edge over runner-up Steen Nielsen.
In the team competition, in the higher-handicap Teals flight, Jim Naeve led Roger Curran, Sam Hergert and Nik Novak to an easy win over a couple teams. In the lower-handicap Wood Ducks flight, Larry Harvey, Bob Anderson, Hank Henry and John Swanson eked out a win over Ward Groesbeck, Dan Fehrenbacher, Jerome Gotz and a fill-in officer.
Winners in the Skins game were Jerome Gotz, Tyler Roush and Scott Bessho. Big winners in the Scrooge competition were Larry Harvey, Jim Naeve and Bill Gannon.

The Bender Migratory
A flock of intrepid Ducks hit the road to Bend, OR for this year’s Migratory. Over the three days of play, there were a few close calls and several runaways. The tight match in the individual stroke play was in the mid-handicap flight, where Nick Nichols topped Jeffrey Hergert by just two strokes over the three days. In the low-handicap flight, Paul Wittenbrock soared to a whopping 13-stroke margin over Scott Wilson, while in the high-handicap flight Kyle Bissel outflew Mike Gannon by 11 strokes.
It was a similar story in the team games. In the low-handicap flight, Larry and Brian Kaleiwahea won by a single stroke over Paul Wittenbrock and John Smith. In the mid-handicap flight, Michael Wu and Kyle Bissell romped by 8 strokes over Mike and Bill Gannon, while in the high-handicap flight it was Chuck Bauman and Nick Nichols over Kent Ferris and Don DeWeese, also by 8 strokes.
